Kristi is a girl's and boy's baby name of Greek origin, a diminutive of Christina, from the Greek Christos, meaning 'anointed one' or 'follower of Christ.' The -i ending was a common American stylistic choice of the mid-20th century.

Kristi was most popular in the United States in the 1960s through 1980s. Olympic figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi, who won gold at the 1992 Albertville Games, gave the name a moment of genuine national celebration and lasting athletic association.
